The sale represents huge loss for Juventus, who sold the player for half of what they paid for him a year ago from Arsenal.

The 30-year-old was purchased for 9.5 million euros ($12.11 million) by the Italian Serie A club.

"Patrick Vieira has signed for F.C. Internazionale after passing a medical. The French midfielder has signed a four-year contract until 30 June 2010," read a statement on Inter's official website.

Vieira is just one of many Juventus players who have left the club after it's relegation to Serie B for their role in the Italian match-fixing scandal.

By joining Inter Milan, Vieira will enjoy Serie A action and a shot at next season's UEFA Champions League title.

Inter Milan were awarded last season's Italian league title last week, after it had been stripped from Juventus.

The France captain won the 1998 FIFA World Cup and Euro 2000 titles with his country and helped Arsenal win seven major trophies.
