هل ينتقل جمعة للشباب عقب نهاية عقده؟

Wael Gomaa has confirmed he will be staying with Egyptian champions Ahli after coach Manuel Jose refused to let him go.

Gomaa has received offers from Premier League sides Bolton and Blackburn, but Ahli officials refused to let go of the combative defender due to the team's depleted back-line.

"Jose has the final word, and he doesn't want to release me, which means there is no use pursuing further negotiations," Gomaa told FilGoal.com exclusively.

The 31-year-old Egypt international did admit he went through a period of "depression" due to Ahli's firm stance, but noted he understands the severity of the situation in the Egyptian club.

Ahli defenders Emad Al-Nahhas and Ahmed Sayed are currently nursing long term injury, which means the team has only three fit central defenders in Gomaa, Shadi Mohamed and newcomer Mohamed Sedik.

Gomaa remains confident he will receive new offers from the Premiership if he continues his good showing with the African champions.
