Egyptian captain Ahmed Hassan scored his first goal for Anderlecht to hand his ten-man side Anderlecht a 1-0 win over Germinal Beerschot on Saturday.

Hassan slammed in a penalty kick in the 49th minute to give the Belgian champions their second consecutive victory.

Anderlecht are fourth with a maximum tally of six points, trailing Genk, Westerlo and Mouscron who lead respectively on goal difference.

Anderlecht had to play with ten men after Anthony Vanden Borre was dismissed after getting a second yellow card just five minutes before Hassan netted his goal.

The 30-year-old midfielder scored four times for Egypt in the African Cup of Nations including two from the spot. He also registered his attempt in the 4-3 shootout against Ivory Coast in the final.

Hassan joined Anderlecht from Turkish side Besiktas after spending seven seasons playing in the Turkish SuperLig.
