"Guddy is a very intelligent player who takes up very good positions on the pitch," Ronaldinho was quoted as saying by El Mundo Deportivo newspaper on Tuesday.

"I like to play with him, we understand each other with just a glimpse and that is perfect," the Brazilian star added.

Barcelona signed the Icelandic striker on a four-year deal from English champions Chelsea to replace Swedish striker Henrik Larsson, who joined his hometown team Helsingborgs.

Gudjohnsen performed well in Barcelona's pre-season friendlies, scoring in Barcelona's 3-0 win over Tigres and the 1-1 draw with Chivas.

Gudjohnsen praised Ronaldinho for his skills which pave the way for him to score.

"It's very easy to get an understanding with Ronaldinho because if you know how to move he'll get the ball to you," he said.
