The Italian capital side almost placed Mido on the transfer list but made a late U-turn and decided to keep him this season as they play in the UEFA Champions League.

"We changed our minds on Mido because we've come to know better his characteristics that can be helpful for the side and the way we play," Spalletti told Roma's website on Friday.

"If someone wants to come in and discuss a bid for him, then that's a different matter, but we won't be throwing him out in the street."

Mido was loaned to Tottenham Hotspur in January 2005 and he spent 18 successful months with the Premiership side.

But Tottenham decided against landing Mido on permanent basis this summer, prompting the 23-year-old international to make a move back to Roma.

Although he was approached by Blackburn Rovers, Mido decided to stay in the Serie A this season, especially with the lack of strikers in the Italian capital side.
