Alexandria-Hani Al-Awadi: Mohamed Omar decided to pass on the opportunity to become Olympic Alexandria's next coach after watching the team lose to Al-Gaish in the Egyptian league on Sunday.

"After watching the game, I contacted Olympic's officials an told them I'm not interested," Omar told FilGoal.com on Monday.

Olympic slumped to a 4-2 defeat against Al-Gaish, their third successive loss since being promoted to the premier league.

"I can't jeopardize my career by coaching a team like Olympic," the former Ittihad boss said.

"Olympic is a very weak side and there is no way they can remain in the top-flight."

The Alexandria-based club contacted Omar to replace Mostafa Younes, who was fired last week, as head coach on an EGP 22,000 monthly salary.

Omar had returned to Egypt earlier this summer after a short spell with Sudanese powerhouse Merrikh.
