"We have agreed to let Gomaa go to England on Sunday following Ahli's African Champions League match with Asante Kotoko, he will return once he finishes the trial period," Al-Badri said.

Ahli turned down an initial offer from Blackburn for the services of Gomaa due to shortage of defensive options.

Yet, Ahli made a U-turn after Blackburn renewed their interest of the Egyptian international.

International duty, though, could prove an obstacle.

"Gomaa may have a problem as Egypt prepare for Burundi's game in the African Cup qualifiers. He has to co-ordinate with manager Hassan Shehata," Al-Badri added.
