Zamalek had turned down a 3 million Euro Premiership offer for the services of Zaki, noting that the offer "is considered to be very low".
The offer, which Zamalek received through a player agency, is believed to be from Manchester City, Blackburn Rovers or Everton.
Zamalek's refusal has caused Zaki to ask coach Shehata to speak to Zamalek officials on his behalf.
"He can't concentrate and doesn't want to play for Zamalek," a source close to Zaki told FilGoal.com on his behalf.
"Amr won't allow Zamalek to ruin a perfectly good chance for him to play in the Premier League," the source said.
"He carries all the love and respect for Zamalek's fans, but he doesn't understand how Zamalek can pass on such a lucrative offer," he added.
The source said that Shehata promised Zaki to intervene and talk to Zamalek president Mamdouh Abbas on his behalf.
Mohamed Hamid, head of the player agency that got Zaki the offer, said he spoke with Zamalek's officials personally in an effort to get the deal moving.
Hamid told FilGoal.com exclusively that the offer was increased to 3.5 million Euros to lure Zamalek into accepting it, especially that the transfer window closes on Thursday.
FilGoal.com can confirm that Fulham is not among the clubs interested in signing Zaki as various Egyptian media sources have claimed.
