Portsmouth have handed a trial to Brazilian international winger Denilson who has been linked with Saudi side Al-Nassr, manager Harry Redknapp said on Wednesday.

"We're taking a look at him," BBC Sport quoted Redknapp as saying in a brief statement.

The 29-year-old international became a free agent when he parted ways with French side Bordeaux in the summer.

Al-Nassr claimed that they have reached an agreement with the World Cup winner and even said he has been registered in their local and Arab squads.

Denilson was the World's most expensive player in 1998 when he moved from Sao Paulo to Real Betis for $41 million.

The left-sided player made four appearances during Brazil's winning campaign towards World Cup 2002.

He was also a member of the squad that reached the final in 1998.
