Zamalek beat Ismaili 1-0 away from home

Ismailia-Yasser Al-Sherif: Ismaili board of directors have asked coach Mark Wotte to write a report explaining the reasons behind the defeat against Zamalek in the local league.

FilGoal.com's correspondent in Ismailia said that the board is planning to discuss the Dutchman's report with the technical staff and players sometime next week.

Ismaili were handed their first defeat of the season when they lost 1-0 to Zamalek on Tuesday, courtesy of a second-half Magdi Attwa goal.

An Ismaili official insisted the defeat would not go unnoticed, especially that Ismaili outplayed their opponents yet failed to break their nine-year winless streak against Zamalek at home.

The defeat jeopardizes Ismaili's place at the summit of the Egyptian league as title holders Ahli could jump in if they win their two postponed games against Harras Al-Hodoud and Suez Cement.

Meanwhile, Wotte played down the impact of the loss and urged Ismaili's fans to accept the defeat.

The Dutch boss did summarize Ismaili's defeat in two main reasons: the absence of starting forwards Mohamed Mohsen Abou-Greisha and Mohamed Fadl, and the lack of defensive commitment on part of the midfielders.
