Ahli defender Shadi Mohamed has signed a contract extension that will see him with the Egyptian champions until 2010.

"Shadi signed a three year extension with Ahli," club marketing director Adli Al-Qaeyi told FilGoal.com on Thursday.

"His hard work and effort with the team was put in mind and therefore there were no problems regarding the finances of the deal," he added.

Al-Qaeyi, who refused to reveal the financial details of the deal per club policy, said that the move to sign an extension with the team skipper comes as part of the club's efforts to keep their best players.

Mohamed is the second player to sign an extension with Ahli after goalkeeper Essam Al-Hadari who put pen to paper earlier this week.

"We renewed the contracts of Mohamed and Al-Hadari, and before that there were the contracts of Mohamed Barakat, Emad Al-Nahhas and Mohamed Abou-Treika," said Al-Qaeyi.

"All we have left is to renew the contracts of Islam Al-Shater and Mohamed Shawki in order to maintain the team's unity and harmony," he added.

Meanwhile, Flavio Amado traveled to Angola for his country's 2008 African Cup of Nations qualifier against Kenya.

The game will take place in Luanda on October 7th, but Ahli's coaching staff allowed the player to leave early since he is suspended for the Champions League game against ASEC Mimosas on Sunday.
