Ahmed Hassan and his side Anderlecht were handed their first defeat of the season when they lost to Racing Genk 4-1 on Saturday.
Hassan played the whole game after he was ruled out from Anderlecht's 1-1 draw with AEK Athens in the Champions League earlier this week due to injury.
But the Egypt captain hardly had an impact as Moroccan striker Mbark Boussoufa scored the consolation goal for Anderlecht.
Both Kevin Vandenbergh and Croatian forward Goran Ljubojevic scored twice to fire Genk into the league's top spot.
Title holders Anderlecht now lie second with 17 points from eight games, trailing the winners by three points.
