Abdul-Ghani is set to leave Riyadh to undergo a medical and a four-day trial period in France before completing a move, the paper said.

"If Ahli reach an agreement with the French club that is fitting for a player a player of Abdul-Ghani's status then a representative from Lorient will arrive in Jeddah to complete the move," club president Ahmed Al-Marzouqi said.

"He just has to pass the medical and trial period first then we can talk about the other details," Al-Marzouqi added.

If the deal does go through, the Saudi Arabia captain will join Arab compatriots Hamed Namouchi and Yazid Mansouri, Anis Ayari, Rafik Saifi in Lorient's ranks.

Lorient are in 11th place in the Ligue 1 table on 10 points.
