Real Madrid coach Fabio Capello accused Atletico Madrid striker Fernando Torres of being a "cheater" for getting defender Sergio Ramos sent-off in the Spanish capital derby on Sunday.

Ramos picked up his second caution in the 63rd minute after Torres fell to the ground holding his face.

"Torres is a cheat and he must be punished," Capello was quoted as saying by Real Madrid's website. "He has deceived the referee and it is not fair."

"He is a cheater, and he should be punished," added the Italian tactician

Real Madrid had to play out the rest of the game with a man missing and the score locked at 1-1 after Raul canceled out Mista's early opener for Atletico.

"If we had played the whole match with eleven players, I would consider this a bad result, but having ended the match with ten men, I think earning one point is a good result," explained Capello.

The Italian tactician also dished out praise for Raul who equalized for Real and ended an 11-month scoring drought in La Liga.

"As always, I think Raul played a very good match. He is a very important player to us and has a great sense of scoring. I have always liked him and have supported him every day since my arrival at Real Madrid.

"He is 29 and can play many more years at this level," said Capello.

But while admiring his 29-year-old captain, Capello insisted he will continue his rotation policy, which saw former England skipper David Beckham benched since the arrival of Jose Antonio Reyes.

Beckham came in the 70th minute in Sunday's game, when his coach thought he would be more influential.

"Beckham can do great things on the right wing. Mejia had been booked and needed his help," said Capello. "We have a very good 20-man squad. We will rotate players in the following matches."

The 31-year-old midfielder, whose contract with Real Madrid expires by the end of this season, said he is not worried about losing his place to Reyes.

"I can't complain because I'm not in the starting lineup," Beckham told the media on Monday. "There are a lot of players on the bench who are in the same circumstances."

The former Manchester United player said that he will continue doing his best in order to regain his starting status.

"I will have to adapt to the new situation and work hard to win Capello's confidence. Reyes is a fantastic player and I can understand why he is playing."
