Manchester United came from behind to beat Wigan Athletic 3-1 on Saturday and maintain their place on top of the Premiership table.

Nemanja Vidic's first goal in United's jersey one minute past the hour mark cancelled out Leighton Baines' early opener.

Louis Saha put the Red Devils ahead five minutes later before Ole Gunnar Solskjaer ensured the win in stoppage time.

United are on top of the table with 19 points, three ahead of second-placed Chelsea, who take on Reading later on Saturday.

Baines grabbed the lead for Wigan as early as the fifth minute when he met Kevin Kilbane's short pass from an indirect free-kick with a powerful blast into the top corner of the net.

Serbian defender Vidic leveled the score in the 61st minute after he towered to head home Ryan Giggs' corner kick.

French international Saha added the second five minutes later after he brilliantly controlled Wayne Rooney's cross at the far post before drilling the ball past Wigan goalkeeper Chris Kirkland from close range.

Norway's Solskjaer put the icing on the cake just before the final whistle with a low shot from the edge of the area into the right bottom of the net.
