The Ghana-born American teenager has caught the eye of United's Scottish boss Alex Ferguson who seemed keen to sign him.

The 17-year-old will be training with the club's youth academy and not the first team, which traveled to Glasgow for the UEFA Champions League fixture against Celtic.

If Adu succeeds, he will have to wait until he turns 18 on June 2nd, 2007 before completing a move to the Red Devils, or any other team for that matter, according to FIFA regulations.
