ART will sponsor Ahli’s two major events in the next year, which will be the handball world club championship held in Cairo and the commemorative match between Ahli and one of Europe’s top football teams, which is still unknown.

The Arab media mogul, owned by Saudi Sheikh Saleh Kamel, will also sponsor any small events coinciding with Ahli’s celebrations throughout 2007.

According to the agreement, any profit made from the coverage will go to Ahli club while ART will unilaterally be responsible for any financial losses, the club’s website reported.

Ibrahim Al-Moealem, head of Ahli’s centurial celebrations committee, said that the entire schedule for the club’s events will be announced on within the next two weeks.

On the other hand, Ahli board member Yassine Mansour denied that the sponsorship deal with ART means the African champions will end their boycott of the regionally renowned Arab Champions League (ACL).
