The Swedish international striker, who arrived at Old Trafford on a three-month loan from Helsingborgs, scored in the 2-1 win over Aston Villa in the FA Cup on Sunday.

"He could have scored two or three. With his movement and experience, he was terrific. The goal summed him up, no drawback," Ferguson said after the game.

"Henrik has scored goals throughout his career and some of them have been crucial. Eric Cantona was like that."

Larsson, 35, is set to return to his side in March, when the domestic league starts.

He signed for Helsingborgs in the summer after steering Barcelona to beat Arsenal 2-1 in the Champions League final match in Paris.

Barca coach Frank Rijkaard tried to convince Larsson to stay but he preferred to return to his homeland in search for regular football.
