Tottenham Hotspur have signed midfielder Aaron Lennon on a five-and-a-half year contract extension, the club said.
The 19-year-old winger featured for England in the World Cup and made 48 appearances for the Spurs since joining from Leeds United in 2005.
Tottenham manager Martin Jol praised Lennon on Monday, saying that he managed to become a regular player within the team despite his age and lack of experience.
"As a player he is growing and developing, he is a great talent now and clearly there is so much more still to come," the Dutchman was quoted as saying on the club's website.
Lennon plays on the right-hand side, where Egyptian international Hossam Ghaly is usually deployed by the Spurs manager.
