Zidan’s treble moved Mainz to the 14th spot in the Bundesliga table with 21 points, easing their relegation worries.

Even Mainz coach Jurgen Klopp was ecstatic and congratulated the Egyptian international on his performance.

“I talked to Zidan before the game and told him I had confidence in him,” Klopp told a post game press conference.

“He played an excellent game and showed great spirit which resulted in three beautiful goals.”

Mainz next travel to Berlin to face Hertha in the Bundesliga on February 17th.
