Ismaili kept their title hopes alive after humiliating struggling side Olympic 6-0 at home in the Egyptian League on Sunday.

Abdullah Al-Saied fired the hosts in front in the 32nd minute and defender Moatasem Salem doubled the lead seven minutes later.

Mohamed Abou-Greisha killed off Olympic hopes in the 59th minute before in-form midfielder Al-Saied notched home his second goal seven minutes past the hour mark.

Abdullah Al-Shahat added the fifth four minutes from time and Ahmed Samir completed the rout in stoppage time.

The result maintained Ismaili’s position in second place of the league table with 45 points, eight adrift of leaders Ahli who face Ittihad Alexandria on Monday.

Olympic lie second from bottom with 14 points, six behind the safety zone.

Elsewhere, Ahmed Eid struck home three minutes before the interval to lead Harras Al-Hodoud to a 1-0 home victory over Masri.
