Italy manager Roberto Donadoni has called up Sampdoria striker Fabio Quagliarella and Roma defender Max Tonetto to the 25-man squad that will face Scotland in the Euro 2008 qualifiers on March 28 in Bari.

The uncapped duo earned their first ever call-up to the Azzurri after giving impressive performances for their clubs this season.

Quagliarella scored 11 Serie A goals for Sampdoria, while 32-year-old left-back Tonetto has been a regular for Roma, helping them to a UEFA Champions League quarter finals place for the first time ever.

The Italy roster is missing some key players for the fixture after Alessandro Nesta, Vincenzo Iaquinta, Fabio Grosso and Christian Zaccardo have all been ruled out with injuries, in addition to Francesco Totti who pulled out under his own request.

The world champions are currently 3rd in group B trailing Scotland and France who defeated Donadoni's team 3-1 last September in Paris.
