Saad unconvinced with Tharwat

Zamalek have sacked assistant coach Mahmoud Saad after he was involved in a bust-up with the club's French boss Henri Michel on Monday.

The club's spokesman Khaled Gabr confirmed the news to FilGoal.com but refused to reveal any further details.

Saad also exchanged angry words with Zamalek technical staff member Ahmed Abdullah and executive director Amr Aboul-Ezz, accusing the latter of trying to limit his role in the team.

"The club will not hire any alternative, we already have Moatamed Gamal who serves as a second assistant," Gabr said.

Reports said recently that several disputes have taken place between Michel and Saad but the duo consistently denied the press' allegations.

However, it seems that the relationship between both of them have reached a dead end that led to Saad's sacking.

Zamalek are enduring a turbulent period after they were surprisingly knocked-out of the CAF Champions League round of 32 at the hands of Sudan's Hilal.

The Cairo giants' Egyptian League hopes also faded as arch-rivals Ahli are close on winning the title for the third successive time.
