In an interview with Gazzetta dello Sport published on Thursday, Ancelotti expressed his confidence that the Italian giants will repeat their European success in recent years.

"In the last 5 years we have been the best team in Europe as we reached the final in 2003 and 2005. We are favorites this year also."

Ancelotti said the Rossoneri take have to improve their physical game if they are to beat German giants Bayern in the competition's quarter-finals.

"The Germans are physically better than us but they don't have much quality. We will have to oppose our usual game in order to defeat them."

When asked about what he expects for the Champions League final, Ancelotti stated that Milan are likely to face English champions Chelsea.

"It will be an opportunity to see our friend Andriy Shevchenko," Ancelotti concluded.
