Al-Badri revealed that manager Manuel Jose had to wait on Abou-Treika's fitness to decide whether to include him or not in the squad heading to Johannesburg on Tuesday morning.
"Unfortunately Abou-Treika will not travel to Johannesburg," Al-Badri told Filgoal.com on Monday.
"The medical staff decided that he has not fully recovered from injury and is not expected to be fit before next week."
The 2006 CAF Champions League player of the year sustained a groin injury in the Egyptian League game against Asyut Petroleum in January and has been on the sidelines ever since.
However, Al-Badri said that midfielder Mohamed Barakat will return to the squad that will be missing four other players through injury.
"Barakat will be included in the squad, but Wael Gomaa, Ahmed Hassan, Abdul-EIlah Galal and Adbul-Hamid Hassan all miss out," he added.
Barakat returned to action against Highlanders following a six-month layoff but was rested in the league match against Ghazl Mahalla on Thursday.
