Abdullah to Zamalek

Egyptian midfielder Mohamed Abdullah scored his first ever goal for Konyaspor but couldn’t help them avoid a 4-2 defeat against Ankaraspor in Matchday 28 of the Turkish Super Lig.

Wederson (22) and a hat-trick from Brazilian striker Silvinho Jaba (27, 78, 80) sealed the victory for the home side while Abdullah (46) and Cedric Sabin’s (72) goals were no more than consolation for Konyaspor.

The match witnessed the appearance of the Egyptian duo Abdullah and Abdul-Zaher Al-Saqqa in the starting lineup. The latter was sanctioned by a yellow card before being substituted at the 64 minute while Abdullah stayed on the pitch to 8 minutes from time.

Konyaspor dropped down one place in the table to be 8th on 38 points and Ankaraspor climbed to 7th with the same points but a better goal difference.

In another game, Rizespor beat Trabzonspor 3-2 to revive the first’s hopes of remaining among the elites next season.

Rizespor, who have among their players two Egyptians, Ibrahim Saied and Beshir Al-Tabie, are now 15th on 32 points with the fear of relegation.

Saied played the whole 90 minutes as a central midfielder while Al-Tabie and Trabzonspor’s Ayman Abdul-Aziz missed the game due to suspensions.
