عباس يتمسك بميشيل

Zamalek chairman Mamdouh Abbas has denied reports that his side are targeting Ghazl Mahalla defender Mahmoud Fathallah.

"Coach Henri Michel does not want Fathallah because there is no need for a libero in the 4-4-2 formation which the Frenchman uses," Michel told reporters on Friday.

Abbas also said that Zamalek's controversial defender Amr Al-Safti will return back to Masri as a part of the deal that will see Karim Zekri move to the Cairo giants at the end of the season.

The press conference to unveil Zekri, which was due to take place on Saturday, has been postponed to Monday because Masri have a crucial Egyptian League game against Petrojet on Sunday.

Meanwhile, a source close to Zamalek said that the club may release Tunisian defender Yamen ben Zekri after he couldn’t impress in his first season with the men in white.

With the expected departure of Ghanaian midfielder Awuley Quaye 'Junior', Zamalek will have a chance to add one more foreigner in their squad.
