Zamalek right-back Ahmed Ghanem has received an automatic two-match ban after picking up a straight red card during his side's 3-0 Egyptian League victory over Harras Al-Hodoud on Saturday.

"Zamalek's Ghanem and Al-Hodoud player Abdul-Salam Nagah have both been hit with a two-match ban due to their improper conduct," Egyptian competitions' committee member Amer Barakat told FilGoal.com on Wednesday.

"The two players were also fined EGP 2000," Barakat added.

Ghanem received his marching orders in the 33rd minute after an off-ball punch to Al-Hodoud midfielder Ahmed Eid while Nagah was sent-off after elbowing Zamalek's Tamer Abdul-Hamid in a similar incident.

Zamalek trainer Moatamed Gamal was also banned for two matches for protesting the referee's decision in an improper manner and was fined EGP 2000.
