Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho hailed his team after clinching the FA Cup with an extra-time 1-0 victory over Manchester United on Saturday.

Chelsea completed a brace of silverware this season, following their Carling Cup triumph in February.

"The players deserved to win this final trophy of the season and the victory is for them and for the supporters," Mourinho told Sky Sports.

A 116th minute strike from deadly Ivorian striker Didier Drogba, gave the Blues a special victory over the newly crowned Premiership champions who ended Chelsea's two-year domination.

"We know the game plan and how to beat them and I think the boys deserved this great moment."

The Portuguese coach experienced a relatively difficult season with Chelsea compared to his previous two campaigns, with speculation consistently suggesting an exit from Stamford Bridge.

"As for the speculation about my future if people have doubts what can I do?" Mourinho said in the post-match press conference.

"I have a contract, I want to stay at the club, and they have told me they want me to stay.

"I have three years of a relationship with Peter Kenyon and I look on them as honorable people, not as liars so when they say publicly I'm going to be Chelsea manager next season I have no reason to doubt them.

"I'm very happy with the club, I love the football in this country. If the club is not happy with me I think I will be the first in line to know because I'm working with honest people."

Match winner Drogba, who also scored the winner in the Carling Cup final 2-1 win over Arsenal, was jubilant with his contribution to Chelsea's double cup achievement this season.

"It's fantastic; this season has been amazing for me and all my friends. We'll just cool down now and relax," Drogba said.
