"We received a fax from Ahli board asking for a meeting in order to strengthen the relationship with us," Abbas told FilGoal.com

"The message is most welcome, we really appreciate their call and a meeting will be held soon."

The aim of that meeting, as it has been known by filgoal, is to discuss the clubs’ TV rights in order to coordinate their efforts against the Egyptian Football Association.

Ahli's request comes amid their 2-0 league defeat against Zamalek on Monday; a game which the Zamalek chairman did not attend.

"I wanted to support the team yesterday, but I was not able to attend the game, I had a back problem which prevented me," Abbas added.

Zamalek are currently fighting for second place with Ismaili in the Egyptian league, after the title has been decided in favor of Ahli.
