The talismanic midfielder was cautioned in Zamalek’s 2-0 win over Ahli on Monday, which cast doubt on his disciplinary stance, but assistant coach Ayman Mansour said that Shikabala was legible to play on Friday.

“We contacted the Egyptian Football Association to confirm Shikabala’s status,” Mansour told FilGoal.com.

“They said that he was good to play after confirming he had no previous yellow card to his name.”

Shikabala has been the heart and soul of Zamalek in the last few games of the Egyptian league, leading the team to one victory after another.

On the other hand, Mansour confirmed that Zamalek will be missing the services of striker Abdul-Halim Ali and defender Wael Al-Qabani against Masri.

“Unfortunately, Ali and Al-Qabani bagged two yellow cards each, which means they will have to sit out Friday’s clash,” Mansour added.

Amr Zaki is expected to deputize for Ali to team up with Gamal Hamza in Zamalek’s frontline.

Zamalek need to beat Masri in Cairo to finish in second place and secure a CAF Champions League spot for next season.
