Germany registered an expected 6-0 hammering of minnows San Marino in the Euro 2008 qualifier in Nuremberg on Saturday.

Most of the action came in the second half though, as Kevin Kuranyi's 45th minute opener was followed by goals from Marcell Jansen, Thorsten Frings, Mario Gomez (twice) and Clemens Fritz after the break.

The Germans kept their supremacy of Group D with 16 points, while underdogs San Marino remain pointless at the bottom with a -35 goal difference in 6 games.

Elsewhere, Wales' icon Ryan Giggs ended his international career with a 0-0 draw against the Czech Republic in the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff.

Giggs and Co. managed to hold the Czechs for the draw, as the Manchester United winger set the seal on a 16-year international campaign of 64 caps.

Wales almost have no hopes of reaching the European championships, as they lie 5th on 7 points, while the Czechs are second on 14, trailing leaders Germany by two points.

In Group E, everything went against England who will face Estonia on Wednesday, after all their rivals cruised to victories to dump the English to third place.

Leaders Croatia secured a precious 1-0 win at Estonia, Israel grabbed a 2-1 away win at Macedonia and Russia thrashed Andorra 4-0 courtesy of an Alexander Kerzhakov hat-trick.

Croatia remained top with 16 points from 6 games, Israel and Russia level on 14 points in second and third places respectively, but the Israelis played 7 games.

In Group G, Tottenham ace Dimitar Berbatov scored twice to give Bulgaria a 2-0 win at Belarus while Romania beat Slovenia 2-1 away.

The Romanians are top with 14 points after 6 rounds, leveling with Holland who will not play this week, while Bulgaria are also close with 12 points in third place.
