Farag enjoyed a superb season

Zamalek are interested in signing goalkeeper Ibrahim Farag from Ghazl Mahalla, the player revealed on Wednesday.

"I have received a phone call from Zamalek goalkeeping coach Ayman Taher, asking about my desire to join the club," Farag told Filgoal.com.

The 29-year-old keeper also claimed that his club received an official enquiry from Zamalek.

"Zamalek contacted Mahalla for signing me, and the club set an EGP 1.2 million selling price," he added.

Zamalek have been persistently looking for a goalkeeper, due to the recurring injury problems suffered by their no.1 custodian Abdul-Wahed Al-Sayed.

Things could get worse for Zamalek if reserve keeper Mohamed Abdul-Monsef insists on leaving.

Abdul-Monsef has been linked to a move to Italian Serie A side Lazio, and he also claimed a Catania link as well.
