The Inter Milan striker revealed on Wednesday that he was subjected to gunfire while driving in his home city Lagos.

Martins said he is considering his international future, revealing that he will not go to Nigeria unless his safety is guaranteed.

Vogts, who succeeded Augustine Eguavoen in January, lives in Germany and flies to Nigeria right before playing any match, the state which does not please the Nigerian officials.

"Perhaps everyone can now understand why I wouldn't like to live in Nigeria," Vogts told German daily Bild.

"Lagos is extremely dangerous now. If anyone is alone, he can't leave the hotel where he is staying because of the constant assaults which happen."
