Hamdi joins Tersana

Ittihad coach Mohamed Omar denied that the club will sign midfielder Youssef Hamdi from Zamalek, claiming that his position is well occupied.

Hamdi has been linked to a move to his former club via ex-board member Hisham Al-Torki, but Omar insists that there is no room for the 29-year-old playmaker.

"We have no intentions to sign Hamdi, because we already have the likes of Sameh Youssef (new signing), Mohamed Nagi and Hisham Hanafi in his position," the Ittihad coach told Filgoal.com on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, the Alexandria-based club will arrange a pre-season friendly tournament on the 18th of July, with the participation of four other teams.

Premier division trio Petrojet, Masri and newly promoted Aluminum will take part, in addition to Jordanian champions Al-Wehdat.

Ittihad new signing Hossam Hassan will not feature in the tournament's opener, as he will play in a world all-star friendly game on July 18th.
