"Ahli and Zamalek will participate in the Champions because they occupied the first two spots in the Egyptian League," Ali told Egyptian Radio.

"Ismaili chose to play in the Arab Champions League instead of the Confederation Cup. As a result, Al-Gaish won't be able to participate in the Confederation Cup because the competition's regulations prohibit fourth-placed teams from playing in it."

Ali has also insisted that the EFA won't backtrack on their decision not to allow any team to participate in more than one external competition in order to maintain the league's stability.
