Marseille have signed Liverpool midfielder Boudewijn Zenden, the French club announced on their official website on Friday.

The Dutch winger will undergo a medical examination before putting pen-to-paper on a two-year deal with I'OM.

Marseille's move came to make up for the departure of France international midfielder Franck Ribery, who joined German giants Bayern Munich.

The club has also said they have agreed 'in principle' a deal with Liverpool to secure the signing of striker Djibril Cisse.

The French international spent last season on loan at Stade Velodrome but Marseille were unable to agree a fee with Liverpool in order to sign him permanently.

However, it now appears that Marseille will have Cisse at their disposal next season.
