Chelsea's Dutch defender Khalid Boulahrouz has been loaned to Spanish Sevilla for a year after he failed to prove his worth at Stamford Bridge.

The Blues' official website announced the news on Friday "I'm glad the deal was sealed. During the past few months I had a very little contribution and I had to look for regular football elsewhere," said the Dutch international defender.

Boulahrouz, 25, arrived at London last year for approximately seven million pounds. He played 23 matches for Chelsea but his qualities neither convinced coach Jose Mourinho nor the fans.
