Sheffield United midfielder Ahmed Fathi denied on Wednesday Zamalek's claim that he has agreed a four-year deal with the Cairo giants.

Zamalek spokesman Khaled Gabr told FilGoal.com said that the Egypt international will fly to Egypt on Thursday to pen the contract.

However, Fathi has insisted that there were no negotiations with Zamalek and that he intends to continue his adventure with Sheffield.

"I haven't sat down with any official from Zamalek. I'm very happy at Sheffield," Fathi told FilGoal.com.

"There is no reason for me to depart; Sheffield boss Bryan Robson treats me very well. I may play in the Championship opener against Colchester on Saturday."

The 22-year-old, who joined Sheffield from Ismaili in the January transfer window, said on several occasions that he wants to see out his contract with the Blades.

Zamalek were desperate to sign a new defensive midfielder before the Egyptian window closes tonight, but it seems they will have to settle with the players at their disposal.
