Emam is yet to retire

Hazem Emam rejected reports saying that he was the reason behind Henri Michel’s exit from Zamalek, stressing that he has no “super powers” to handle club matters from behind the scenes.

The Zamalek captain was accused of masterminding Michel departure after the Frenchman has reportedly asked for releasing Emam, among other veteran players.

"Some people promote the idea that I am Superman,” Emam told FilGoal.com.

“They say I forced Michel to leave and asked for hiring Ruud Krol, but that is absolutely wrong. Being captain does not mean that I control the club."

"I have always been a member in Michel's starting eleven and I took part in all pre-season games. How possibly could he have asked for dropping me?” wondered the 32-year-old playmaker.

Meanwhile, the Egyptian international praised the arrival of Dutch coach Krol, who has presented Emam as a promising star in 1996 when he was in charge of the Egyptian Olympic team.

"I believe Krol is a great manager, who has great technical and mental abilities. I am sure he is the right man to lead the team."
