Bayern Munich opened their Bundesliga season with a thumping 3-0 over newly-promoted side Hansa Rostock at the Allianz Arena on Saturday.

The Bavarians were inspired by the performances of summer signing duo Mirsolav Klose and Luca Toni.

The strike partners combined well to put the home side ahead after 14 minutes as Klose set up Toni with his first Bundesliga goal.

Klose turned from provider to scorer as he notched in the other two goals in the 66th and 85th minutes.

Elsewhere, Mohamed Zidan's Hamburg SV enjoyed a winning start as well, beating Hannover 96 1-0 away.

The only goal came from Namibian midfielder Collin Benjamin after 23 minutes as HSV held on to bag the points.

Egyptian striker Zidan started for HSV before being replaced by Eric Choupo-Moting 20 minutes from time.
