Spanish newspapers reported on Wednesday that the Brazilian ace is one step closer to sealing a move to the Blues after the latter agreed terms with the Sevillans.

However, Chelsea announced that despite their interest in signing Alves, no deal has been settled yet between the two clubs.

"Chelsea have confirmed their interest in the player to the club but as yet there is no agreement," a Chelsea statement read on Wednesday.

The 24-year old winger has often has expressed his willingness to join Jose Mourinho's team and Sevilla recently excluded him from their UEFA Champions League squad list.
