Iaquinta scored twice

A hat-trick by David Trezeguet and a brace from Vincenzo Iaquinta gave newly-promoted Juventus a thrashing 5-1 home win over Livorno in the Serie A opener on Saturday.

Trezeguet opened the scoring in the 29th minute after connecting with Alessandro Del Piero's inch-perfect cross to head home.

Iaquinta, who was introduced at halftime instead of Del Piero, doubled the lead in the 71st minute from the penalty spot.

The former Udinese hitman added the third five minutes from time before Trezeguet appeared on the score sheet again just one minute later.

The French international then put the icing on the cake two minutes into stoppage time before Massimo Loviso scored Livorno's consolation.

Elsewhere, Lazio were held to a 2-2 draw by Torino at Stadio Olimpico.

Torino's Alessandro Rosina broke the deadlock in the 34th minute but Goran Pandev leveled the score 11 minutes after the break.

Tommaso Rocchi put Lazio ahead one minute after the hour mark before Tommaso Vailatti secured a share of spoils seven minutes later.
