Anderlecht's hopes of reaching the UEFA Champions League group stage for the second successive season were demolished following a 3-0 aggregate defeat to Fenerbahce.

The Belgian champions will have to beat Rapid Wien, who are sharing first spot in the Austrian League, if they are to continue their European adventure in the second-tier competition.

Anderlecht will host Rapid Wien on the 20th of September before heading to Austria for the second-leg on October fourth.

Egyptian midfielder Ahmed Hassan announced that this season will be his last at Anderlecht as he intends to return back to his homeland.

Meanwhile, German Bundesliga side Hamburg will face Bulgarian Cup finalists Litex Lovech.
