The club's official website revealed that the 23-year-old striker is currently in Spain and will join his new teammates who will play against AC Milan in the European Super Cup.

The former PSV striker inked a five-year-deal with the UEFA Cup winners and his contract has a release clause of £20million.

PSV general director Jan Reker told the club's official website: "It is a very lucrative deal for PSV.

"He is a fantastic player but it was a good offer and we are obliged to protect the interests of PSV in the long-term."

Kone joined the Dutch champions in 2005 and scored 21 goals in 53 games.
