Supporters surround the team bus

The Egyptian team were forced to change their training ground on Tuesday after supporters invaded the pitch due to absence of appropriate level of security.

Chaos ruled in Maadi Sporting Club as fans mixed with reporters just before the practice begins.

Club officials and security forces failed to clear the pitch, forcing manager Hassan Shehata to call off the training.

Egypt were set to train in Maadi club as an official opening to the new artificial-turf ground, which is similar to the pitch hosting their game against Burundi in the African Cup qualifiers.

Huge banners welcoming the team and announcing the time of training were raised outside the club, located in a classy suburb on the outskirts of Cairo, prompting hundreds of fans to flood the place.

Middlesbrough striker Ahmed Hossam 'Mido', Ahli star Mohamed Abou-Treika, and Ankaragucu defender Ibrahim Saied were at the center of attention.

Egypt trained behind closed doors at Wadi Degla club, ten minutes away from their initial training ground.
