Ittihad football director Sayed Karawan blasted veteran skipper Hossam Hassan after the latter traveled suddenly to UAE to play an exhibition match.
The Egypt icon, who played for one season for UAE's Al-Ain in 1999, has been invited for an exhibition match in an international festival in Dubai on Wednesday.
"Hassan's decision to leave the team at such a stage is disrespectful," Karawan told FilGoal.com on Wednesday.
The 41-year-old left his team's build-up for the crucial bottom of the table clash with Baladeya Mahalla on Friday.
Hassan, who is yet to score a goal for Ittihad since his arrival from Tersana this summer, should return on Thursday before the Baladeya game.
The Alexandria-based club are still winless after seven Egyptian League games, lying second from bottom on four points.
