Zamalek defender Wissem El-Abdi has been handed a three-match suspension by the Egyptian FA after being sent-off in his side's 1-1 draw with Suez Cement.

The Tunisian defender was handed a straight red card in the first-half after hitting Mohamed Al-Saghir's chest with his boot in an off-ball challenge.

El-Abdi has been also fined EGP 2000 for the unsporting behavior, the Egyptian FA announced on their official website on Wednesday.

The former Sfaxien man will miss Zamalek's Egyptian League games against Masri, Ghazl Mahalla and Harras Al-Hodoud.

Amr Al-Safti is expected to start in the Cairo giants' match against Masri on Saturday, given the absence of the injured Karim Zekri and El-Abdi.
