A late strike by Kevin Davies earned Bolton Wanderers a precious 2-2 draw with Bayern Munich in the UEFA Cup at Allianz Arena on Thursday.

Ricardo Gardner stunned the home crowd after eight minutes when his deflected shot found its way into the back of the net.

Lukas Podolski leveled the score in the 30th minute with a low drive after being set-up by Franck Ribery's pull-back.

The under-fire Podolski put the hosts ahead four minutes after the break after being fed again by the impressive Ribery.

However, Davies earned the English side an unlikely draw eight minutes from time.

Kevin Nolan flicked the ball over Lucio and Christian Lell before finding Davies at the far post and the frontman shot under Bayern keeper Oliver Kahn.

Despite the draw, the Bavarians are still on top of Group F with four points, two ahead of second-placed Bolton.
