The FIFA has banned Kuwait from all international matches for government interference in the association's affairs. The Kuwait government has appointed a board of directors on October 9th what is contradictory to the FIFA rules.

The general assembly of the KFA made a vote to remove the board on November 4th. The FIFA welcomed the decision and lifted the ban but confirmed that Kuwait should fulfill their commitments or the ban would be reinstated.

A transitional committee is set to lead the KFA until the date of the next elections.
